# Passkey Authentication

> Sign in without passwords using biometrics or security keys.

Latitude.sh supports passkey authentication using WebAuthn/FIDO standards. Passkeys provide a faster and more secure way to sign in using your device's biometrics (fingerprint, face recognition) or security keys, eliminating the need for passwords.

## Setting up Passkeys

1. On the Latitude.sh dashboard, go to your [profile page](https://www.latitude.sh/dashboard/account).
2. In the **Passkeys** section, click **Create passkey** to start the passkey creation process.
3. Follow your device's prompts.
4. Once created, you can customize the passkey name for easy identification.
5. Click **Save** to complete the setup.

## Signing in with Passkeys

After setting up passkeys, you can use them to log in:

1. Go to the [Latitude.sh dashboard](https://www.latitude.sh/dashboard).
2. Click **Continue with Passkey**.
3. Follow your device's authentication prompts.
4. You'll be automatically signed in to your account.

## Managing Passkeys

You can manage your passkeys from your [profile page](https://www.latitude.sh/dashboard/account):

* **Rename passkeys**: Click on a passkey display name, edit it and press enter to save.
* **Delete passkeys**: Remove passkeys you no longer use by clicking the delete icon.

## Passkeys with SAML SSO

If your team uses [SAML Single Sign-On (SSO)](/teams/sso), passkeys are not available. Users cannot create or log in with passkeys and must authenticate through the organization’s SSO provider.

## Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble with passkey authentication:

* Ensure your browser supports WebAuthn (most modern browsers do).
* Check that your device's biometric authentication is properly configured.
* Try using a different passkey if you have multiple registered.
* Access your account through a different method and set up a new passkey.
* Contact support if you're unable to access your account.
